Erikson Life Stages. It built upon freud’s theory of psychosexual development by drawing parallels in childhood stages while expanding it to include the influence of social dynamics as well as the extension of psychosocial development into adulthood.[1] Erikson was a pioneer in considering that the development of the self is a lifelong process.

This theory was first articulated in 1950 in chapter seven (“the eight ages of man”) of his book childhood and society, and further developed in later books and articles. From the moment we are born leading all the way to our death, we are always in a state of development. It is focused on reflections of past life.
